Blessing of the Animals
In honor of the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals, please join the Rutland County Humane Society (RCHS) and Reverend Lee Crawford of Trinity Episcopal Church for Blessing of the Animals.
It will be held at RCHS, 765 Stevens Rd. in Pittsford, on Sunday, Oct. 3, at 2 p.m. Bring your pet or a picture of your pet for a special blessing by Rev. Crawford. All dogs must be on leashes and cats and other pets in safe carriers. The ceremony will be held outside and all are welcome. After the ceremony the shelter will be open until 5 p.m. to visit with the adoptable animals.
8 year old. Spayed Female. Maltese.
Talk about getting a second chance. Sad to say, I was not cared for in my former home but only used for breeding. I needed a lot of TLC when I got to RCHS and have spent the last month getting groomed, gaining weight, learning to walk on a leash, and getting housetrained. I am a happy dog and a testament to canine faithfulness that I can still trust people after what I have been though.
3 month old. Spayed Female. Domestic Short Hair Black and White.
I am one spirited little girl. I could play, play, play all day long - I am a kitten, after all. Watch out for my flying paws - you're going to need plenty of toys to keep my paws occupied. Fortunately I can make a toy of anything - even a strip of paper. If you are looking for lots of smiles and hours of fun, I am the kitty for you. Please don't forget a kitty toy when you stop by for a visit.

Do you love animals? Do you hate abuse, neglect and cruelty? Do you love seeing homeless animals rehabilitated and placed into loving new homes?
Then you should be part of the Springfield Humane Society Team!
At SHS we work every day for animals & people that need our vital community services.
Last year we: Placed 342 animals into new homes. Dealt with 19 complaints. Helped people keep their "behaviorally challenged" pets with issues counseling. Rehabilitated several pets with behavior issues so we could place them. Spent $29,166.77 on animal health care alone.
Simply because the SHS has been here for 69 years does not mean it can be taken for granted that it will always be here.
Simply put - we need you because they need us! Please join our team with your donation today. You do not have to be a member to support our work.
On behalf of the animals, our wonderful staff & volunteers and the dedicated Board of Trustees I invite you to be a part of our team either by becoming a member, or simply with a donation. Please, show you care.
