FORT EDWARD Bruce Leon Weber, 85, a resident of The Oaks in Fort Edward, NY, died peacefully at the Glens Falls Hospital on Tuesday, November 6, 2007. Born, May 31, 1922, in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Oscar Brent and Laura Grace (McBee) Weber. He was one of 12 children. Mr. Weber was a 1941 graduate of Berkeley Springs High School of Berkeley Springs, WV. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Navy in the Airship Division, until his honorable discharge in 1946. He was a long time resident of Arlington, VA. He spent most of his working career as an associate of the family owned business of the Weber Tire Company in Fairfax, VA. Always actively involved in church work, he was a faithful member of Trinity Presyterian Church in Arlington, VA, where he served for a number of years as a church officer as well as in several other capacities. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Kathleen Weber; one daughter, The Reverend Sharon K. Weber and her husband, Rev. Michael Richards of Hartford, NY; two granddaughters, Cristen Abrams of Worcester, MA and Rebecca Murphy of Plymouth, MA; one grandson, Daniel Sankey of San Francisco, CA; and four great-grandchildren, Annabella and Soren Abrams and Cullen and Kieran Murphy. He is also survived by two sisters, Geraldine (Gerry ) Willard and June Brown, both of Berkeley Springs, WV; and two brothers, Elmer Edmund (Ed) Weber of Berkeley Springs, WV, and Glenn S. Weber of Vienna, VA; plus numerous nieces and nephews. A Funeral Servicetook place on Saturday, November 10th, at 10:00 a.m. at the Berkeley Springs Presbyterian Church of Berkeley Springs, West Virginia. Interment followed at the family plot of the Greenway Cemetery of Berkeley Springs, West Virginia. Donations in his memory may be made to the Hartford Volunteer Fire Company, 8118 State Route 40, Hartford, NY 12838.
