An accident on the Adirondack Northway took the life of an elderly passenger Monday morning.
Angela Pierre, Age 69, of Montreal was killed when Jean W. Aurelien, age 38, of Terrebonne, Quebec was driving his 2005 Nissan X-Trail northbound on Interstate 87. Aurelien veered off the west side of the roadway and continued rolling, crossing both lanes of the highway, striking a rock cut, flipping over and coming to rest in the northbound driving lane.
Pierre, who was a rear-seat passenger in the car, was ejected from the vehicle. She was transported to Elizabethtown Community Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

“We can’t be sure, but we don’t beleive she was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident,” Husner said.
Essex County Coroner Paul Connery responded and authorized removal of Pierre’s body to the Adirondack Medical Center at Saranac Lake where an autopsy was conducted by Dr. C. Francis Varga. The cause of death was due to blunt force trauma to the chest and the manner of death was ruled accidental.
