PORTHENRY - High Peaks Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. has received a donation from Alison Williams, administrative services director of Hudson Headwaters Health Network, in honor of her co-workers.
"Alison's gift highlights the admiration and collaboration that exists between our agencies, as well as her commitment to her own staff, and we are extremely grateful," said Sunday Conine, development coordinator with High Peaks Hospice & Palliative Car. "Alison also recognizes Debbie Bardin, her supervisor George Purdue and her counter-part at HHHN Donna Gorton, the director of nursing ."

"Hospice guides and supports the patient and their loved ones through their final journey inside an inclusive circle of care, sheltering them from an otherwise isolated and lonely journey," said Gail Herman of hospice. "We provide dignity, comfort and peace at the end of life. We do this in cooperation with local health and human services organizations such as Hudson Headwaters Health Network.
"In 2009, we cared for 366 patients and their families," she added. "Patients and families benefit from our patient-centered team approach, finding peace at the end of their days."
