Hospice Volunteer Services (HVS) has moved, from its previous office in Middleburys Charter House to the Marble Works mall area. The new office is located in the Kubota Building, at 63 Maple St. near Marble Works Phramacy. The agencys mailing address and phone number remain the same.
The public is invited to an open house on Friday, Sept. 14, noon-1:30 p.m., to see the new office, meet the staff, enjoy refreshments, and learn more about hospice programs in Addison County. The HVS staff consists of Executive Director Patty Dunn, Office Manager Shirley Ryan, Bereavement Specialist David White, and Assistant Program Director Priscilla Baker.
Hospice Volunteer Services is a nonprofit agency that provides several services to Addison County residents who are facing the end-of-life or are grieving the loss of loved ones.
Throughout the year, HVS offers several support groups to grieving community members, as well as providing individual support. Anyone who has experienced the loss of a loved one (spouse, partner, parent, child, sibling, other relative, co-worker, or friend) is encouraged to contact the HVS office to learn more about grief support.
This fall, the agency will sponsor workshops on advanced directives and will hold its annual Service of Remembrance in November.
All community education events are advertised in local newspapers, are open to all residents of Addison County, and are free of charge.
