The NCSPCA is committed to the welfare of homeless dogs and cats and the mission of finding them "forever homes"... but without your help, we would not have the resources for not only major expenses such as veterinary care and utilities, but also everyday needs and supplies. With spring cleaning time fast approaching, you may want to take a look around your house and see if you have any of these things to spare: paper towels, bleach, dish detergent, clean linens, blankets and towels, and office supplies. We also need dog collars, kitty litter, pet carriers, and, most importantly, volunteers!
We are also in constant need of food, but request that you please contact the shelter staff regarding what brands of food are most tolerated by our pets. Frequent food brand changes are often associated with pet stomach upset, and different brands contain different nutritional content. We attempt to maintain a consistent diet for our pets so that they do not experience digestive problems.
Our featured pet this week is Annabel, a sweet-tempered, petite little lady who is approximately one year old. She was brought to the shelter by her owner, who was no longer able to care for her and wanted to ensure she would find a good home. Annabel craves attention and is happy to reward you with a huge purr if you pet her scratch her under the chin. She is clearly a cat who has been dearly loved and is hoping to share her huge heart with someone... maybe you!
You can visit Annabel and our many other pets of all ages, sizes, and personalities, at www.ncspca.org, or call us at 962-8604. You may also visit us Tuesdays through Saturdays at 23 Lakeshore Road in Westport.
