School Vacation Programs at Library
The Springfield Town Library is offering two programs for all ages during School Vacation Week.
Michael Clough of the Rockhopper Education Center and his animal friends will present "Sensational Snakes" on Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 10 a.m. Snow date Feb. 19.
The Little House on the Prairie Movie Marathon will be held Thursday, Feb. 18 from 1-3 p.m. Come dressed in pioneer garb!

Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper
On Tuesday, Feb. 16 there will be a Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper at the First Congregational Church United Church of Christ, in Springfield from 5 to 7 p.m.
There will be pancakes with Vermont maple syrup, bacon, sausage, fruit and coffee, tea or milk. The cost is $6 for adults, $4 for children (3-12 yrs) and a family cap of $22. Handicap accessible.

Spaghetti Supper & Holy Day Services
Due to the success of the first supper in January, the Springfield United Methodist Church will hold another free spaghetti supper on Saturday, Feb. 13 from 5-6:30 p.m. Join us for a meal of spaghetti, salad, bread, dessert and beverage.
Lent begins forty days before Easter not including the Sundays. This year, Lent begins on Wednesday, Feb. 17. We will gather for worship on this Holy day at 7 p.m.

Bake Sale for Habitat for Humanity
The Springfield area Habitat for Humanity will have a Valentine's Day bake sale on Saturday, Feb. 13 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Shaw's Supermarket in Springfield. Bean soup kits and homemade treats will be available.
Father/Daughter Valentine's Dance
The 9th Annual Father/Daughter Valentine's Day Dance, sponsored by the Claremont Parks and Recreation Department, will be held on Friday, Feb. 12 at the Zotto Gym from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Peak Entertainment will supply the music, and hors d'oeuvres will be served.
The first 100 daughters will receive a free red carnation. A photographer will also be on hand to take pictures of the couples. The cost is $15 for dads and the first daughter; there is a charge of $5 for each additional daughter. The cost includes photographs.
