The First Congregational Church of Crown Point will host its 10th annual Strawberry Festival June 29.
The First Congregational Church of Crown Point will host its eighth annual Strawberry Festival this summer.
Know as the “Brick Church in the Park,” the church has planned the 2012 festival for Sunday, June 24, beginning at 11 a.m. It will be held on the village green in front of the church at Veterans Park.
The Strawberry Festival will include local music and talent, vendors and an open invitation to the community to share the park with a community-wide lawn sale.
“This annual event, hosted by the friends and members of The First Congregational Church brings the great taste of local strawberries and biscuits, Peggy’s famous michigans, burgers, dogs and ice cream to the community,” said Pastor David Hirtle. “Along with the food goodies, the community will once again be encouraged to bring their lawn sale items and join in the fun with their friends and neighbors.”
Strawberry Festival planners are now lining up vendors for the event.
“Following last year’s success, we are again seeking quality vendors,” Hirtle said. “There will be no charge for vendors to set-up and sell their wares. We only ask that you contact Gary at 597-3520 with your intent to be there for this year’s festival.
“Remember, there is limited space so don’t hesitate, mark your calendars and plan for a great family day out,” he added. “See you at the festival.”
