Vintage postcards from the archives of the Walpole Historical Society are featured in the 2010 calendar, just published by the WHS and now available in several local outlets. The calendar includes a history of postcards in the U.S. by Ray Boas, Walpole bookseller.
This is the seventh in the series of calendars published by the Society. It is on sale at Murrays, Galloway Real Estate, Real to Reel, the Walpole Village Market, and the Museum Gift Shop in Walpole and at the Toadstool Bookstore in Keene for $10, or $8 each with purchase of three or more. It is also available by mail upon request to WHS, Box 292, Walpole, NH, 03608. The Gift Shop in the Academy Building on Main Street is open from 1 to 3 p.m. each Wednesday and Saturday afternoon until mid-October.
Copies of earlier editions, which depict historical houses in the town, may be obtained for $5 each at the Gift Shop. Proceeds from sale of the calendars benefit the Society's fund for renovation of the historic Academy Building, built in 1831.
