INDIAN LAKE - Five countries were represented during a recent rafting trip down the Indian and Hudson Rivers from Lake Abanakee in Indian Lake to the North River take-out. Two self-bailing rafts under the expert guidance of two of Wevertown's Beaverbrook Outfitter's most experienced guides carrying a total of 11 rafters led the way.
The motley group of rafters had a great day - the weather cooperated and the river water level was excellent for rafting.
Guides Lori Phoebe Benton and Rick Villeneuve each had a mix of adventurers in their rafts, including folks from Japan, Thailand, Norway, Uruguay, and the lands of Vermont, Newcomb, and Minerva.
When asked what he thought of the day of adventure, which included an end-of-trip meal at the Inn on Gore, Sorravit Bunjongpean (aka "Big") of Thailand said, "It was awesome." This sentiment seemed to cover what everyone thought of the trip - it was indeed excellent.
