Village officials announced today that Thursday’s civic testimonial dinner honoring the Management Association (AMA) is postponed to a later date due to the storm.
Mayor Clyde Rabideau reported, “I received a call at 3 PM from Martin Delahay, the vice president in charge of AMA Saranac Lake operations that he and AMA President Edward Reilly, the event’s guest of honor, are stranded on Long Island without power or a way off the island due to effects of tropical storm Sandy.”
Rabideau continued, “In fact, Mr. Delahay was just then able to get to a part of the island to make a cell phone call which is four miles from his home.”
The village and AMA will contact each as soon as possible and re-schedule the inaugural testimonial event.
Local political leaders, including Congressman Bill Owens, State Senator Betty Little, Assemblywoman Janet Duprey and Essex County Board of Supervisors Chair Randy Douglas had made reservations for the event and were slated to talk to the gathering.
Details on the re-scheduled testimonial will be announced by a news release and be posted on the village website at: www.saranaclakeny.gov.
