The Adirondack Medical Center plans to build a medical office building this year on its main campus in Saranac Lake.
The 9,000 square foot building would provide wound care and office space for doctors.
"The goal is to have it complete by the fall of this year," AMC spokesman Joe Riccio said.
The wound care unit would serve a variety of patients, including those with diabetes and those undergoing radiation treatment. Riccio said the unit fills a need for the region. Patients currently have to drive to Ogdensburg or Glens Falls to get treatment.
Riccio said the hospital is exploring options for financing the project.
