Thanks go to our editor for filling in for me and writing the Thurman column during my unwanted vacation.
Please note that the Thurman town landfill has been closed temporarily so construction and demolition debris can be rearranged to meet state specifications, Thurman Town Clerk Cindy Hyde said.
All of our area fishing enthusiasts will either be out casting a line into the water - or wishing they were - on April 1 for the opening day of fishing season in New York State. Here's assuming those fish won't still be under the ice!

Our ground hog is still trying to dig out from under all the snow, so I'm thinking he might not see his shadow until early June.
Flocks of geese were seen headed north about mid-March about a week ago when our weather was warmer. Let's hope it warms up again and spring really arrives!
Amber Grace of Warrensburg recently spent a week with her mother, Ruth Wadsworth in El Paso, Texas. Ruth had been visiting the Warrensburg area in February, but because of bad weather didn't get around to see everyone, we hear.
Thanks to all for the visits, cards and prayers during my recent hospitalization. Remember, such thoughtful actions mean a lot to so many of us.

Thurman Easter party April 16
The Thurman Youth Commission Easter Party will be held on April 16 at the Thurman Town Hall from 1 to 3 p.m. There will be an Easter egg hunt and fun for all.
Girl helps out Thurman maple party
At the Maple Sugar Party held on March 12, Mattie Castro and her grandmother, Bonnie Cameron, were a big help to all.
