CHESTERTOWN M. E. Kemp, author of Death of a Dutch Uncle, will present "Ah, The Writing Life" at the next Friends of the Chester Library Authors Series Saturday, Jan. 12 at 10 a.m. in the Chestertown Municipal Building. Kemp will talk about the fun as well as problems a writer faces during the writing process. After a successful career as a nonfiction writer of textbooks along with being published in national and regional magazines, Kemp turned to writing mysteries. A native of New England, Kemp has written a crime mystery series set in early American history. Murder, Mather and Mayhem features the arrest of the Massachusetts' Royal Governor resulting in sending him back to London in chains. Death of a Dutch Uncle revolves around a huge land fraud scandal set in old Dutch Albany. The Friends will present their Authors Series on Saturday mornings in January, March, and May to accommodate those in the community who may not be able to attend presentations during the work week. The January Friends Meeting will take place at 11 a.m. following Kemp's presentation. All are welcome to attend.
