BOLTON LANDING Anyone visiting the Bolton Central School Web site will notice some changes this year.
Visitors to boltoncsd.org should hit the refresh button on their first visit to update the site.
We wanted to change the look just enough so people will see that it is new, but still be familiar, said Bolton School Superintendent Ray Ciccarelli.
The school Web site began several years ago as a student project, which Ciccarelli said was very well done, but it needed more information for users other than students.
Weve maintained the educational component, Ciccarelli said. But with the help of BOCES, we found a company, School World, that provides software that is an improvement over ours.
Ciccarelli and selected staff have trained so they can add and change information in a timely manner with the new software.
We can now post things like snow days right away, he said. Its much easier to navigate than our previous site.
Boltoncsd.org also has expanded information now, with events and changes available to be read or printed.
Power School is still there for parents, students and teachers, Ciccarelli said. The guidance department issues passwords for parents and students in grades six through twelve.
