The NCSPCA would like to remind you that our 31 days of free cat adoptions will soon be drawing to a close. Don't miss your opportunity to add a new member to your household in time for the holidays! Many of these fantastic, frisky felines are still available for adoption and are hoping to come home for the holidays. Is your fireplace missing a warm furry body curled up in front of it? A bright-eyed face looking at you from the windowsill? The NCSPCA has the solution for you. Come down to the shelter at 23 Lakeshore Road in Westport, and speak with our staff to learn more. Or, you can call 962-8604. We are open Tuesday through Friday, noon until 4 p.m.; Saturday from 10 a.m. until 5p.m. , and Sunday by appointment. We are closed on Mondays.
Our featured pet this week is Bear, a beautiful brown-and-white Husky-mix with soulful golden eyes that communicate his intelligenct. Bear is about eight or nine years old. He arrived at the shelter when his owner could no longer care for him. He is a gentleman who gets along easily with both other dogs and cats. Bear is a laid-back fellow who doesn't get excited too easily and prefers to watch any activity going on rather than getting too involved. He doesn't mind an occasional trip outside; his thick coat keeps him toasty warm in the snow. This sweet fellow is hoping to find someone who will give him the affection he craves and provide him with a comfortable place to relax and watch the hustle-and-bustle of the world pass by.
If there is a dog or cat of a particular age, temperament, size, or breed you are seeking, please feel free to stop by the shelter and find out if your perfect pet may be waiting for you. We always have new animals coming in seeking homes; many of our dogs do not have a pedigree, but have many of the characteristics of their purebred relatives. We also have a large number of cats, including short and longhair. Why not make a stop today? You'll be glad you did.
