BELLOWS FALLS - The Bellows Falls Middle School Unified Arts Department will present a Spring Arts Festival on Wednesday, May 19, in the school's cafeteria. The Festival will include a display of student art work, Powerpoint presentations, a pops concert, and light refreshments. The Art Show will open at 6:30 p.m., and the concert will begin at 7.
Mary Lou Massucco's art students will be demonstrating their creative arts in the cafeteria. Stop by to try out some painting and other art materials with the kids. The highlight of the show will be a display of papier mach dogs and foil bird sculptures. Also on display will be student paintings and block prints. Art work includes landscapes, nature, portraits and still life.
The pops concert will feature performances by the Level 1 and Level 2 Choruses, Select Chorus, and the Jazz Band. All choral ensembles are under the direction of Joan LaClair.
The 'World Cultures' classes of Mr. Dube at the Bellows Falls Middle School will have several of his students' Powerpoint computer presentations on laptops for perusal. In addition, many posters made by his students this year of countries where either French or Spanish is spoken will be made available.
The evening will conclude with the BFMS Jazz Band under the direction of Stanley Rumrill, Jr.
