As the sun dangled over the Horizon, colorful pontoons, house boats, Hacker crafts, paddleboarders and kayakers light up the Plattsburgh Boat Basin for the Sixth annual Boat Parade of Lights Competition on July 12.
At about 9 p.m. boaters lined up in order. The parade route began at Wilcox Dock and boaters traveled through Plattsburgh Boat Basin inside the breakwater. Boaters traveled through the basin past shores lined with people from Plattsburgh and visitors.
Special riders included Burghy, Plattsburgh State University’s Mascot was found in the mix of boaters riding in a hacker craft, Santa was riding on the bow of one sail boat and Tom Messner rode on boat number 9, the Champlain Boat works house boat.

Prizes and trophies will be awarded in each of these four divisions on Saturday, July 21, at 4 p.m. The award ceremony will take place at the Naked Turtle, 1 Dock Street.
