Bob Flint, executive director of the Springfield Regional Development Corp., appeared as a guest speaker at a recent Rotary Club of Chester meeting. Flint discussed broadband expansion in Vermont's rural areas and its impacts on business and home users.
While critics point to slow progress especially in the state's Northeast Kingdom, Flint assured listeners that the expansion has made a positive impact in Windsor and Rutland counties.
Flint said, "VTel, the telephone company serving the surrounding communities, has made some major strides in bringing broadband internet connectivity to businesses and homes. A recent grant and a significant amount of company money are making this important contribution to the area possible."
