Cougs win pair of CVAC games
NCCS 80, NAC 25
The Cougars jumped out to a 26-8 lead a cruised to a victory over the Bobcats Jan. 12.
Steven Carder paced the Cougars with 22 points and 11 rebounds in the win, while Jamie Davison scored 19 points, Richie Collins scored nine points, Nick LaFave scored eight points, Rob Armstrong scored seven points, Alex Davison scored seven points and the duo of Tom Bedard and Logan Miller scored four points.
Jesse Smith and Colby Sayah led the Bobcats with eight points apiece.
NCCS 63, PHS 59
After the Hornets rallied in the fourth quarter to tie the game at 54-54, the Cougars used a 9-5 overtime frame to pick up a key Division I CVAC win Jan. 14.
Steven Carder paced the Cougars with 32 points in the win, while Jamie Davison added 12 points, Rob Armstrong scored nine points, Logan Miller scored six points and Richie Collins scored four points.
For the Hornets, Tre Bucci scored 15 points, while Kyle LaPoint added 14 points, Ethan Votraw had 12 points and Jordan Knight scored 10 points.
Chris McIlroy hit for 15 of his 20 points from beyond the arc as the Eagles scored a victory against the Chiefs Jan. 14.
Tom Ryan scored17 points for the Eagles, while Keegan Ryan and Devon Anderson scored 10 points.
Dylan Everleth scored 19 points for the chiefs, while Dylan Gallagher scored 14 points and Jake Liberty scored 10 points.
Peru 62, Saranac Lake 42
The Indians used a 20-5 opening eight minutes to end up with a win against the Red Storm Jan. 14.
Will Flynn led the Indians with 16 points, while Kyle Carter scored 11 points, Tim Remillard scored 10 points, Joe Mazzella scored eight points and Mike Holdridge scored six points. Benioko Harris paced the Red Storm with 19 points, while CJ Stewart and Forrest Morgan each scored six points.
Ti 58, Seton 46
The Sentinels won the first and third quarters by scores of 16-6 and 20-11 to push out for a victory against the Knights Jan. 14.
Mark Ryan scored 15 points to lead the Knights, while Carson Hynes scored 12 points, Adam Tedford added eight points and Keagan Briggs scored five points.
AVCS 55, Moriah 41
The Patriots used a 12-3 fourth quarter run to pull away from the Vikings Jan. 14.
Brody Douglass scored 18 points in the win, with Jordan Coolidge adding 17 points, TJ Burl scoring 10 points, Connor Manning scoring eight points and Nick Rhino scored two points.
Willsboro 50, Chazy 37
Alex Hamel scored 12 of his 18 points in the third quarter to pace the Warriors past the Eagles Jan. 14.
Brandon Bertrand added nine points for the Warriors, while Clay Sherman scored eight points, Dakota Sayward scored six points, Clayton Corss scored three points and the trio of Nick Nagavci, Dakota Sayward and Cody Sayward scored two points.
Brandon Laurin and John Tregan scored 12 points each for the Eagles, with Kaleb Snide adding 11 points and Matt Gravelle scored two points.
