Crank up the ovens, bring out the gumdrops, it is time to make a gingerbread house for Bristols Seventh Annual Cool Yule Gingerbread House Contest and Display. Sponsored by the Five Town Business Council, the decorated domiciles of dough will be displayed in the stores and businesses of downtown Bristol through Saturday, Dec. 15. One prize, the Peoples Choice Award, will be given to the gingerbread house voted to be the publics favorite. Maps denoting the location of the gingerbread houses and ballots for voting will be available at each display site. All materials used in making the gingerbread creations must be edible and must be placed on a wood or sturdy cardboard base, no larger than 14 by 18. Children, families, groups, organizations, businesses and individuals are eligible to enter. The entrants may pick up their houses on Saturday, Dec. 15, so as to have it in their home for the holidays. Entry forms are available at Vermont Honeylights, Bristol Bakery, National Bank of Middlebury, BECKS Alley Antiques and the Bristol Recreation Department.
