The day before Mother's Day, something special happened at the Blue Mall on Dorset Street in South Burlington-a day was dedicated by merchants to help Women Helping Battered Women.
The event was "birthed" by a collaboration between Cosmos Hair Associates and Candles & Creations included most of the businesses in the Blue Mall. Hillary Nichols-Alexander from the Women Helping Battered Women shelter, located in Chittenden County, and 12 women and seven children from the Sofia House received a day of VIP treatment at the mall.
Each woman and child started the day off by getting a new look courtesy of Cosmo's Hair Associates and then received gift cards noting all of the participating Blue Mall businesses that would honor them. Stores not giving gifts donatied to the shelter.
