“Happiness In A Storm: Embracing Life As A Healthy Survivor,” a free community lecture, takes place Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 6 p.m. at the Angell College Center Ballrooms. Dr. Wendy S. Harpham, internationally-known physician, cancer survivor and best-selling author will be the featured speaker.
Dr. Harpham is a doctor of internal medicine, 20-year survivor of (recurring) indolent lymphoma, award-winning author, patient advocate and mother of three. Her writing and speaking revolve around the notion of a “Healthy Survivor,” namely, a survivor who (1) gets good care and (2) lives as fully as possible. Dr. Harpham has written seven books on survivorship, including After Cancer, When a Parent has Cancer, and Happiness in a Storm. Her Plattsburgh presentation will explore opportunities for happiness in life despite medical problems and even because of illness.
This program is hosted by the EXPLORE Cancer Survivorship and is part of the CVPH Community Lecture Series sponsored by the Foundation of CVPH. Reservations are required. Please call the CVPH Public Relations Office at 562-7320.
