The Primary elections set for Tuesday have spurred considerable interest in the region, as a substantial number of positions in town government are contested.
A total of 20 Republican primaries are to be held Sept. 13 in towns across northern Warren County alone. No Democrats are competing to be their party’s endorsed candidate — they and the independent parties will be competing in the November election. The polls will be open Tuesday Sept. 13 from noon to 9 p.m.
The top local position of supervisor is contested for the Republican Primary vote in Lake George, Bolton, Horicon, Johnsburg, and Lake Luzerne.
Various candidates are seeking town board seats in Warrensburg, Lake George, Bolton, Horicon, Stony Creek, Johnsburg and Lake Luzerne.
The post of highway superintendent is contested in the Primary Election in Hague and Warrensburg.
In Chester, three candidates are seeking the position of Town Clerk in the Republican Primary. They are joined by another independent candidate in november.
