Partnership, and the Prevention Team, will be hosting the third annual C.A.R.E. (Caring About Residents of Essex County) Fair and B.E.S.T. Walk on May 21 at the Westport Fairgrounds in Westport, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
This event is to help raise awareness of the dangers of underage drinking and impaired driving, as well as provide the residents of Essex County educational information about a broad range of services available to them within Essex County. This is a gathering for community members of all ages to participate in supporting our youth to be alcohol free, as well as learn about great local programs and services. There will be many agencies attending this event, displaying their exhibits, explaining their services and providing free giveaways to participants.
The B.E.S.T. walk will launch the event and will begin at 10:30 a.m. on the racetrack. There will be a day full of games, raffles, prize drawings, a bike rodeo (with free helmets for all participants), bouncy houses and many other free activities...too many to list!
Law enforcement will be on hand to conduct free child safety seat inspections, provide Safe Child ID cards, as well as information of services available through each of their agencies.
Free t-shirts will be available for the first 200 teens who attend. 95 Triple X will be broadcasting live throughout this event, which is sure to keep the energy up. So bring your bikes, your sneakers, friends and family and enjoy a day full of events for all ages.
