TICONDEROGA Fire Chief Carl Royce Perry, 68, of Ticonderoga, passed away Friday, November 16, 2007 at the Glens Falls Hospital. Born in Chestertown, New York, January 23, 1939, he was the son of the late Henry and Annabell (Burdette) Perry. Carl grew up in Chestertown and was a graduate of Chestertown High School. He was a Ticonderoga resident for most of his adult life. Carl was employed as a Mechanic for the Ticonderoga Highway Department for many years. He joined the Ticonderoga Volunteer Fire Department on September 11, 1961. Carl served in every rank for the Department, including Commissioner, Past President, Fire Chief for the past 11 years, as well as current Commission Treasurer. He served as Fire Chief for a total of 19 years. Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Carol (Pockett) Perry; eight children, Rory Perry and his wife Sheryl of South Glens Falls; Tammy Perry of Argyle, Timothy Perry of Queensbury, Mark Connery of Glendale, Arizona, Trisha Winchell and her husband Jason of Crown Point, Christy Shortsleeves and her husband Joseph of Glens Falls, Shawn Connery and his wife Jennifer of Sewell, New Jersey, and Stephen Connery of Bolton Landing; and daughter-in-law, Karyn Ryan; one brother, Philip Perry; one sister, Anita Fish of North Creek; and his good friend, Matthew Belden of Ticonderoga. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends called Monday, November 19th, from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin St., Ticonderoga.
