Planning to host an event this summer?
The Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is asking community groups to forward events they will be hosting and/or organizing to the chamber to be entered into various community calendars around the region.
"In an effort to include all events for our visitors to enjoy, as well as residents to attend, we are reaching out to our community for the information," said Sylvie Nelson, executive director of the Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce.
Nelson says the chamber already has an extensive list of annual events included in its Visitor's Guide and the summer schedule of Great Adirondack Days, which is a compilation of summer activities in the Saranac Lake area.
But this effort goes a step further, Nelson notes, as the chamber is now working to have an extensive list of area events not only on its own website at www.saranaclake.com, but on other community calendars throughout the North Country.
Groups are asked to submit their events by Friday, April 1.
"As part of our services, and this goes beyond the chamber membership, we will enter all of the events submitted into numerous community calendars, including the Adirondack Daily Enterprise, the Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism in Lake Placid, chambers of commerce in the North Country, area media and more," Nelson said.
Groups interested in submitting their events need to enter their info at the chamber's website by clicking the "Events'" link at www.saranaclake.com.
The chamber will take that information and publicize it. People who are not web savvy can contact the chamber for help at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 518-891-1990.
