VERGENNES-A unique Lenten season retreat will be held to all interested faith seekers on Sunday, March 1, at 3 p.m., in St. Peter's Parish Hall in Vergennes.
The retreat director, Catherine Joanne, is from St. Joseph's Dwelling Place in Ludlow. She has received formal training and education in the skill of spiritual direction from the Institutes of Formative Spirituality of Duquesne University and Boston College.
Joanne will share her musical talent during the retreat. The retreat topics are "Walking with Jesus and Mary in our Pain", a reflection on the mystery of suffering in the Christian life and "Walking with Jesus and Mary in Trust ", a reflection on coming to know, to love and to trust God. This retreat isn't just for Catholics. Other Christians, and non-Christians alike, will gain insight into life, human self sacrifice, and sharing as part of the event. Breaking bread together at the dinner table will also serve as a community building experience for attendees.
Each session will run for approximately one hour. Between the two sessions, members will be served a free pot luck dinner. Attendees are asked to bring one or two dishes to share with others.
