Sophie Clarke, seventh from left standing, of Willsboro, has made the final five contestants still remaining on the main island of the CBS reality show, 'Survivor.'
When Thurston Clarke talked about his daughter being on the CBS Television reality show “Survivor,” he never gave any clue to a cameo role.
The author and Willsboro native’s cameo on the show came during the Dec. 7 airing, when he was the family member who came to visit the island to see his daughter, Sophie, who is one of five remaining contestants on the main island.
In an interview earlier, the patriarch of the Clarke clan said that he knew the show was something his daughter had enjoyed and wanted to be a part of.
“Sophie was obsessed with this show for 10 years,” Thurston said. “She was determined to be on it. When she auditioned, she kept it very secret from all of us. We don’t know anything about what happened or where she placed because they all left and came back at the same time.”
Clarke also said that he was in the dark as to what was going to be happening on the show, which may now seem to be a slight mis-representation.
“I am as interested and as uninformed as everyone else who’s watching is,” Clarke said, who then added, “It has been fun to see people’s reaction to this.”
Sophie Clarke continued to remain off the ballots of contestants that are to be voted off the island, having only received one vote over the course of the show. Previews for the Dec. 14 episode featured Clarke, which could be foreshadowing a big week for the local star.
Clarke also maintains a Facebook page about the show.
