The Poultney Project Graduation team hosted the first-ever car show at Poultney Elementary School Oct. 14. The perfect backdrop of the fall foliage and brisk sunny day showcased the cars, new and old dating back to the 1940s, from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
Project Graduations mission is to provide an alcohol and drug free alternative setting for the Senior Class of 2008. As in prior years Project Graduation has succeeded in discouraging students from making other choices, as they stay at the well-planned party provided by the Project Graduation team.
Organizers Debbie and Mark Ballantine stated, It was an overall success with 37 cars entering at $10 per registration. We couldnt have done it without the support of the local and surrounding businesses that provided donations and offered sponsorships.
Awards came not only in trophies, but raffle tickets, as well. Robin Cooper won $150 in the 50/50 raffle, and others walked away with hats, T-shirts, and car supplies.
