Colonel Bill Smullen
Retired Army Colonel Bill Smullen recently gave classes at OASIS in DeWitt on “The Arab Revolution” and “New Threats, New Thinking.” Before retiring from the service, Smullen was Chief of Staff to Secretary of State General Colin Powell and is now director of National Security Studies at Syracuse University’s Maxwell School.
Given his popularity, Bill Smullen will likely be asked to return to OASIS in the future to continue to provide important and interesting presentations. OASIS is honored to have him as one of the many instructors who conduct classes in a variety of programs.
OASIS is a national education organization dedicated to enriching the lives of adults ages 50-plus by offering programs in the arts, humanities, health, history and technology. It also offers opportunities for volunteer service within the organization.
The Syracuse chapter of OASIS is celebrating its tenth anniversary. It is sponsored by Upstate Medical University and Macy's and has more than 8,000 participants throughout Central New York.
