Paul Smith's College announced this week that F. Raymond Agnew will serve as the school's new vice president for institutional advancement.
The college's president, Dr. John W. Mills, called Agnew a "respected development professional with deep ties to the North Country."
A release issued by the college Tuesday states that Agnew served as vice president of community relations at Glens Falls Hospital for more than a decade, raising more than $37 million for the health care organization.
"We're very excited to welcome Ray to Paul Smith's College," Dr. Mills said in a prepared statement, adding that Agnew has an extensive track record of success.
"Ray is widely admired in the communities he has been a part of," Dr. Mills added. "His fundraising and leadership skills will be a great asset to the college."
Agnew has been involved with fundraising at several colleges and universities, including the Potsdam College Foundation, Empire State College, and Binghamton University.
As head of the Paul Smith's College Office of Institutional Advancement, Agnew is in charge of fundraising.
Agnew, who is a native of Elizabethtown, says he's thrilled to return to higher education. He succeeds Jennifer N. Ott, who has served on an interim basis since last fall.
Agnew officially began his career at Paul Smith's College on Monday.
