LAKE GEORGE While the village is renowned for its events that are aimed at tourists, one thats aimed primarily at area residents has been flourishing. Since it was conceived last year, The Mayard Centers Lake George Community Festival has quickly garnered a large following, organizer Tom Mastrodomenico said this week. People had a lot of fun last year, and this year, we have even more activities planned, he said. To be held from noon to 5 p.m. Sat. Oct. 25 in Mayard Center in the middle of downtown Lake George, the event features a deejay playing popular music, pony rides and a bounce house for children, free trolley rides, and a variety of informational stations set up by community groups. Also, Lake George Community Coming Together will be holding its annual window painting activity in conjunction with the festival. Featuring a silent auction of donated goods and services, the event is intended to raise money for the local food pantry, \\as well as provide fun for all ages, Mastrodomenico said. The event also includes displays of classic cars, boats, and fire trucks operated by the Lake George Fire Dept. Food will be available at the event.
