QUEENSBURY - The Warren County Sheriff's Office arrested 34-year-old Philip J. Viger Jr., an inmate in the Warren County Correctional facility last week, for one count of criminal contempt in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor.
Also arrested last week was his wife, Jessica L. Viger, 30, of Hudson Falls, for one count of offering a false instrument for filing in the first degree, a class E felony.
According to police, Philip Viger had been contacting his wife by phone from the correctional facility while two separate orders of protection were in place barring him from doing so.
Jessica Viger had spoken to her husband during those phone calls, sent letters to him, and placed a classifieds ad in the newspaper directed to him, all while filing a petition in Warren County Family Court stating she has not had contact with him in over a year.
Philip Viger was arraigned and held in Warren County Jail while Jessica Viger was released on her own recognizance on an appearance ticket returnable to Queensbury Town Court in May.
