CROWN POINT - Dorothy Jane Siver is in good company.
The Crown Point teen has joined the Carolina Rose & The Bluegrass Girls, a North Carolina-based Bluegrass band.
A fiddle player, her first show with the group was in Rosine, Ky., the home of Bluegrass legend Bill Monroe. The weekend was a reunion of all The Bluegrass Boys that had played with Bill Monroe.
The annual event and the Bill Monroe Foundation was founded by Campbell Mercer, who is also the founder of the RFD-TV show Cumberland Highlanders, which airs every Saturday night.
Mercer played mandolin for Carolina Rose & The Bluegrass Girls as a special guest during the Kentucky show.
Siver, th daughter of Ron and Jennifer Siver, has also recently completed her debut CD with Ampersand Records in New Jersey.
