CROWN POINT - Second Blessings thrift shop has closed for the winter, although it remains available to assist those in need.
"Since July, the Second Blessings thrift shop located at the corners of Route 9N and Creek Road in Crown Point has enjoyed the opportunity to reach into the community with clothing as well as other useful items," said Pastor David Hirtle of the Crown Point Congregational Church.
Second Blessings offers all its useful items without cost. Patrons may make a donation, as desired.
With the coming of the cold weather, Second Blessings, located in the historic Hammond (Chapel) home, has closed its doors and ended its regular hours because the expense of keeping our building heated.
Second Blessings is available to receive donated items and will respond to emergent situations and calls throughout the winter months.
"Please, if there are members of the community who have an emergency and need for items from the store, call 597-3398," Hirtle said. "Your call will be responded to.
"The staff of Second Blessings appreciates all the response from the community during their first year of operation and looks forward to the warmer weather and re-opening the doors again to welcome both old and new friends," he concluded.
