SARANAC LAKE Story and dance will combine in Saranac Lake with a special performance this Thursday. A eurythmy performance to benefit Northern Lights School will take place Thursday, Feb. 28 at 7:30 p.m. at Will Rogers retirement community. Eurythmy is describe as art of movement or as something that develops a greater balance between visual and auditory learning. Claire Seiberth, who teaches eurythmy at Northern Lights School, will lead the presentation. It's very beautiful, and it's something very different. Dance often has not much to do with the music (but) we're bringing out the heights, the lows and the harmonies. It's very visual, said Seiberth. Seiberth has been performing eurythmy for 15 years. She will perform in Saranac Lake with Rachel Andrews and Alexandra Spadea, all residents of Chestnut Ridge, in Rockland County. The performance, titled In Other Words, features dance to Chopins Nocturne in C Sharp Minor, Scriabins Prelude in B Flat Minor, and poetry by Robert Frost and Edwin Markham. Before the performance, a short demonstration will be offered. Admission is $10 for adults, $6 for students. All proceeds benefit Northern Lights School, a Waldorf initiative school in Saranac Lake.
