WILLSBORO David Westcott White Sr., 79, of 1245 Reber Road, Willsboro died on November 14th. He was born in New York City May 14, 1928 the son of Thomas S. White and Elizabeth Robinson Elliott. Mr. White joined the Navy in 1946 and served for 2 years. He graduated from Middlebury College in 1951. He married Mona Thea Smith in 1953. He went into the book publishing business as a sales manager for George Braziller in NYC and then worked as an editor for Pocket Books. In 1963 he started his own publishing company, David White Inc. In the 70s he established a distribution company for other small publishers. He retired in 1987, and he and his wife, Mona, moved from Port Washington, NY to Willsboro. In Willsboro, he became an active community member and served on the Smith House Board of Directors and the Willsboro Development Corporation. He loved photography, gardening and life in the North Country. He is survived by his wife, Mona Smith White of Willsboro, four children, David Westcott White Jr. of Westwood, MA, Ann Robinson Earls of Charlotte, NC, Samuel Franklin White of Port Jefferson Station, NY, and Adam Nelson White of Charlotte, NC, and six grandchildren and three great grandchildren, and a brother Stephen P. Elliott of Greenwich, CT. He was predeceased by his brother, Thomas S. White Jr. The family received guests at the White home on Saturday November 17th. There will be a Memorial Service in his honor to be scheduled in the spring. The Huestis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
