A new classical music series is to hold its inaugural season this summer with Lake George Village as the host community.
The Lake George Music Festival will be launched this week, Aug. 14 through Aug. 16. Student and professional musicians from various nations will perform concerts and hold open rehearsals.
This season’s performances, offered at no charge, span three evenings.
- A string ensemble will present a concert of chamber music at 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14 in St. James Episcopal Church, 172 Ottawa Street. The program is to include music by Bach, Haydn, Mozart, and Bartók.
- A variety of chamber music ensembles are scheduled to perform at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15 in St. James Episcopal Church. The program is to feature music by Brahms, Berg and Prokofiev.
- The festival’s finale at 7 p.m. Aug. 16 includes a full orchestra of 40 musicians performing Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 3 and Symphony No. 29 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 51 Mohican St.
