BLUE MOUNTAIN LAKE - The Adirondack Center for the Arts will feature a Dine In/Ski Out evening on Jan. 30.
Skiers will enjoy the beauty of the Adirondacks under a full moon accompanied by sport, great food and even better company. The event begins at 5 pm on Saturday and costs $3 and $2 for members.
Hearty fare will be served by the annual Arts Center Potluck and skiers and snowshoers alike will trek across Lake Durant after their meal.
"We will have everything from soup to snowshoes," said Laura Marsh, assistant director. "Make sure you don't miss out on this night of winter fun."
Preceding the Dine In/Ski Out event, the Arts Center will invite space aficionados young and old to build and launch their own rocket ships.
The workshop begins at 1 p.m. and costs $15 and $10 for members.
"This is the closest we can come to offering astronaut training to the Adirondacks," said Marsh. "Perhaps we will see some of these young people at the Kennedy Space Center someday."
Both events are family friendly and are open to the public. For more information, visit www.adirondackarts.org.
