TICONDEROGA Diners will be able to save gas and still enjoy the 2008 Progressive Dinner hosted by the Ticonderoga Festival Guild on June 10. Three seatings are scheduled at 4, 5 and 6 p.m. This unique set-up continues the 2008 Guild theme of Going Green, by staying at one geographic location rather than visiting four restaurants in the area. The Progressive Dinner is a biennial event staged to promote fun and fellowship while raising funds for the guild summer activities. This year the event will take place solely at the Best Western Hotel on Burgoyne Road, but at three locations within the complex. Caribbean appetizers will be served around the pool where a cash bar will be available with tropical drinks available. The diners will then move to the ballroom for an Italian dinner party with Pappa Al Pomodoro (traditional fresh tomato soup from Tuscany), Chicken Sorrentino, and Spaghetti alla Borraccina. Italian wine specials will be available at the cash bar. An Irish dessert party will follow in the pub, featuring apple and barley pudding and Irish lace cookies, coffee and tea. The cash bar there will feature Irish after dinner drink specials. Tickets are $32 a person, available from board members or by mailing a check and specifying choice of seating to the Ticonderoga Festival Guild, PO Box 125, Ticonderoga 12883.
