QUEENSBURY The second annual Indoor Waterpark Duck Race to benefit Greater Adirondack Region Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is this Sunday, Oct. 7, at 11 a.m. at the Great Escape Lodge and Indoor Waterpark.
Hundreds of rubber ducks will race around the waterparks Tak-it-eesi Creek, a 450-foot long lazy river that holds 112,000 gallons of water, in a charity duck race to raise money for the Greater Adirondack Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is excited to be a part of the upcoming charity rubber duck race to benefit diabetes research and local families affected by the disease, said T.J. Roode, branch manager of the local JDRF chapter.
Donations of $5 per duck are being accepted at the lodges front desk, and ducks will be available until the race begins at 11 a.m.
Winners will receive exciting prizes, including a grand prize of a one night stay at Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Waterpark, including breakfast; Second place winner will receive 2008 season passes to the Great Escape and third place will win dinner at Trappers Adirondack Grille. Other prizes include two one-day passes to White Water Bay and a $25 Gift Certificate from Marthas Dandee Creme.
