ELIZABETHTOWN - The Elizabethtown-Lewis Athletic Booster Club will host a free Aquafina Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit and Run competition for area youth May 16, 1 p.m. at Elizabethtown-Lewis Central School.
Pitch, Hit and Run is the Official Skills Competition of major League Baseball. This grassroots program is designed to provide youngsters with an opportunity to compete, free of charge, in a competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball/softball skills.
Competitiors are divided into four age divisions, seven and eight, nine and 10, 11 and 12, and 13 and 14, and have the chance to advance through four levels of competition, including Team Championships at Major League ballparks and the National Finals at the 2010 MLB All-Star Game. Champions at the local competition will be awarded and advance to the Sectional level of competition.
All participants must bring a copy of their birth certificate and fill out a registration/waiver form prior to the start of the competition. For more information, contact local coordinatior Patti Phillips at 873-9544 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
