ELIZABETHTOWN - The Elizabethtown Fire Department is sponsoring the annual Elizabethtown Day Celebration this Saturday, July 17. The theme for this year's event will be "Stars and Stripes."
The weekend of festivities begins July 16, 8-11 p.m. with a town-sponsored block dance concert at Cobble Hill Golf Course featuring E-Town Express and Rob Pulsifer.
There will be a town-wide yard sale open July 17 to any and all who wish to participate.
The Adirondack History Center Museum is offering free admission to Elizabethtown Residents July 17 in celebration of Elizabethtown Day. The museum is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with new exhibits "A Sign of the Times" and "Swan Furniture" currently on display. Call 873-6466 for more information.
Behind the museum, the Essex County Adirondack Garden Club will hold its tag sale fundraiser. Proceeds from the sale benefit the local region through the club's many conservation and educational programs, including support of the museum's Colonial Garden.
The parade will begin at 3 p.m., starting at the museum, then heading south on Court Street to the Cobble Hill Golf Course.
ELCS Alumni will be gathering to march in the parade and reunite with classmates in the activities of the day. 60 alumni from several different graduating classes have committed to participating. E-mail Joyce Spooner at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
