TICONDEROGA Emile Morris Cave, 85, of 29 St. Claire St., Ticonderoga, NY, formerly of Easthampton, MA, passed away Monday, September 17, 2007, at the Heritage Commons Nursing Home of Ticonderoga. He had earlier resided with his daughter, Louise Martin, first in Crown Point and for the past few years, in Ticonderoga.
Born in Northampton, MA, on October 17, 1921, he was the son of the late Emile E. and Amy (Morris) Cave.
He was educated in the local schools, including Smith Agricultural School.
For over 25 years, until his retirement in 1983, he was employed as a millwright in Holyoke, MA by National Blank Book Co. His prior employment included The Florence Casket Company and Tobin Brothers Concrete Products, also in Florence.
An active CB'er, he was known locally and beyond as "Buffalo".
He is survived by his daughter, Louise Martin of Ticonderoga and her husband Donald, and their children, Brett, Jonathan, and Lucas, and several great-grandchildren; and by his son, Lawrence E. Cave and his wife Jill of Massachusetts; and by one brother, Morris Cave of Massachusetts.
An older brother, Lawrence Cave, died in the 1944 battle for St. Lo, France.
Relatives and friends called Wednesday, September 19th, from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home of Ticonderoga.
A Prayer Service followed at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
