ELIZABETHTOWN - The Elizabethtown-Lewis softball team is ready to take on the competition.
Senior hurler Riley Diemand returns to lead a small, but experienced team that looks to better last year's 2-10 record.
Fellow seniors Molly Wagner, MaryBeth LaRose, and Kaleigh Ratliff will provide needed leadership, as will returning juniors Chelsea Provost and Kristen Jacques.
"We should be competitive this year, if we stay healthy," head coach Jim Monty said. "Our numbers are down, with only 11 young ladies on our team."
Sophomores Alyssa Sullivan and Nicole Podmore move up to the varsity team this year, along with freshman Kaitlin Coats and eighth-grade standout Kylee Cassavaugh. Andrea LeVien, who pitched at the modified level last year, is showing much potential as a freshman, Monty said.
