PLATTSBURGH The Plattsburgh Sunrise Rotary Club will host its first-ever benefit motorcycle ride this Saturday, Oct. 4. The ride will be held to raise money for the local chapter of the American Cancer Societys Making Strides Against Breast Cancer initiative, and charitable community projects supported by Plattsburgh Sunrise Rotary. The ride will begin at Lake City Choppers\North End Harley Davidson on State Route 3 in Plattsburgh with registration at 11 a.m. The ride will start at 12 p.m. and follow an approximately 100-mile scenic fall foliage route through the Adirondack Mountains and end back in Plattsburgh at Olive Ridleys Restaurant on Court Street. Registration fees are $20 per bike, and an additional $5 per passenger. Each registrant will receive an event bandana, one free auction ticket and a spaghetti dinner following the ride at Olive Ridleys. In addition to an auction, a 50/50 raffle will be held at registration exclusively for riders and extra bandanas will also be on sale. The post-ride celebration at Olive Ridleys will be open to all, from approximately 2-6 p.m. The cost of the dinner for non-riders will be $10. Donations are still being accepted for the auction. Those who contribute $100 or more in sponsorship or auction item donations will have their names or the names of their businesses placed on mile markers along the route.
