WESTPORT - In the summer of 2008, surveys of 27 Adirondack farmers' markets were conducted. Vendors, market managers and consumers provided input on which characteristics lead to success.
On Saturday, May 2 Cornell Cooperative Extension will hold workshops on "Practices of Successful Markets." Todd Schmit, Cornell University assistant professor of applied economics and management and Berndadette Logozar, CCE Franklin County rural and agricultural economic development specialist will present the final report from last summer's survey along with pointers for displays and advertising.
