TICONDEROGA - Fort Ticonderoga and the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts in Burlington will present "History Comes Alive!," a day-long theater camp for children entering grades 4 - 8 on Thursday, Aug. 12.
Participants will travel back in time to 1775 and imagine they are one of the Green Mountain Boys trying to decide whether to follow Ethan Allen and Benedict Arnold across Lake Champlain to attack Fort Ticonderoga. Others will imagine they are one of the family members of the British soldiers living in the fort and unaware of this plan.
Over the course of the day participants, with the help of simple costume pieces, will create characters, both true and fictional, as they enact the historic capture of Fort Ticonderoga on May 10, 1775. This event was the first victory of the American Revolution.
The cost is $70 a child. For reservations call 585-6370 or 585-2821.
