PLATTSBURGH - Nicole and Jerry Franco welcome customers to their new restaurant, Franco's Country Kitchen.
The Francos opened their new business in March, occupying the location of the former Kaya's Country Kitchen. Their menu offers an array of items, from burgers and hot dogs to wraps, sandwiches, chicken wings and more.
Franco's also serves breakfast all day, with traditional items like pancakes, French toast and country fried steak made to order. Breakfast burritos, breakfast sandwiches and sausage gravy over biscuits are also among the typically morning offerings that can be ordered all day.
Franco's also has a full menu of sandwiches - served both cold and hot - including "The Hitman." There's little that Jerry will divulge about The Hitman other than to say it's a "spicy Italian sandwich."
"We could tell you more, but then The Hitman would have to kill you," Jerry laughed.
Franco's also offers a kid's menu and half-portions for those looking for a quick bite to eat.
Eventually, Franco's plans to offer pizza.
"That's something we think people will like because they'll be able to order pizza by the slice," said Nicole.
Franco's Country Kitchen - located at 334 Cornelia St., Unit 9 - is open 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. There's plenty of parking available in front and in back of the restaurant.
